The Outgrowing of Urban Bounds
From a Gurukula to Vedabhavan, and ultimately to the serene expanse of Ponnala—the physical journey of our institution beautifully mirrors the ancient migrations of the Vedic recitations themselves. As the decades passed and the chorus of voices multiplied, the sacred sounds steadily outgrew their urban boundaries. What began as a localized sanctuary in 1984 with just three initial students transformed into a highly sought-after national center of excellence, with 150 vidyarthis.
The land in the heart of Neredmet left no room for the expansive infrastructure, persistent water needs, and nature-aligned lifestyle required of a traditional Gurukula. It became clear that the next phase of our mission demanded a expansive canvas.

The Birth of the Ponnala Sanctum
Driven by this critical need for space and sustainability, divine grace manifested through the exceptional generosity of a large hearted donor, who selflessly donated over four acres of fertile, groundwater-rich land in Ponnala Village, Shamirpet.
In 2018, the transition was formalized. This monumental move was not a mere physical relocation—it was a profound institutional rebirth. Away from the digital noise and urban constraints of the city, the new campus allows our students to study, breathe, and chant in perfect harmony with the natural elements. To protect this pristine environment, the campus has been designed with forward-thinking ecological preservation, including advanced rainwater harvesting structures to sustain groundwater and state-of-the-art solar power systems for daily cooking and essential utilities. The Ponnala campus stands today as a sovereign, self-sustaining sanctum for the preservation of Śruti.
